01Who can take part
RiftLeague tournaments are open to players who:
- live in the Czech Republic or Slovakia,
- are at least 13 years old,
- have a valid League of Legends account,
- have an account in good standing and no competition ban, where such a ban is relevant,
- are not professional players as defined by the rules of the specific tournament,
- agree to these rules,
- are able to follow the rules of the game, the competition and conduct.
RiftLeague may set additional eligibility conditions for a specific tournament.
Minors
Players under 18 may take part where the rules of the specific tournament and their legal capacity allow it.
In justified cases the organizer may ask for proof of age or confirmation from a legal guardian before paying out a prize.
02Team
The standard roster is 5 starting players + at most 1 substitute. A specific tournament may allow a different number of substitutes if its rules say so.
Every player must be listed on the roster at registration.
During one tournament a player may not
- play for two different teams,
- share their roster spot with another player,
- play for another team under a different account,
- circumvent roster rules.
Transfers or roster changes after registration require the organizer's approval.
03Professional players
RiftLeague is built primarily for the community and amateur scene. Professional players are not allowed in RiftLeague tournaments by default.
A player may be considered professional in particular if, at the time of the tournament, they:
- actively compete in a Riot Games professional competition,
- are part of a professional team,
- or otherwise meet the definition of a professional or semi-professional player set by the rules of the specific tournament.
The organizer reserves the right to assess a player's eligibility individually.
04Registration
Registration is free unless a specific tournament explicitly states otherwise.
Registration may only ask for the minimum data needed to run the tournament, in particular:
- team name,
- Riot ID / in-game identifier,
- captain's name,
- Discord contact,
- contact e-mail.
The organizer collects only data necessary for the purpose and keeps it only as long as needed. See the privacy policy for details.

The organizer may increase the prize pool. Once a tournament has started, the organizer may not reduce a previously announced guaranteed prize pool without a serious reason.
06Who the prize belongs to
The prize belongs to the team according to its final placement.
How the prize is split between team members is an internal matter of the team. RiftLeague does not, by default, decide how a team divides a prize between its players.
The captain or another person appointed by the team is responsible for receiving the prize and for distributing it among team members.
07Prize payout
After the tournament the organizer publishes the final results. The winning team is contacted through the contact given at registration.
To pay out a prize the organizer may ask for:
- the recipient's name,
- confirmation that the recipient may accept the prize on behalf of the team,
- a bank account number, or a QR code with payment details,
- other information needed to make the payment or meet legal obligations.
Payment via QR code
The winner may also provide payment details as a QR code containing bank transfer details. The organizer then sends the prize by bank transfer to the account matching those details.
Before sending the prize, the organizer may verify that the payout details belong to the entitled recipient.
Never send a password, PIN or access to your online banking. RiftLeague will never ask for online banking credentials, passwords, PINs, payment card numbers or any other login details.
08Payout time
Prizes are normally sent within 14 days of the winner confirming all required details.
If the winner does not provide the required details, or the recipient's entitlement cannot be verified, the payout may be put on hold until resolved.
If the winner does not respond for a long time, the organizer may contact them repeatedly through the registered contact.
09Taxes and legal obligations
Prizes may be subject to tax or other legal obligations under applicable law.
Any obligations of the winner towards the tax authority depend on the winner's individual situation and applicable law.
For larger amounts or specific situations RiftLeague may ask for additional information needed to meet legal obligations before paying out.
10Match rules
Players must show up for a match at the time given in the schedule. Teams must be ready to play with a full roster.
The organizer may set a tolerance for late arrival, for example 15 minutes. Once it expires, the match may be:
- forfeited,
- rescheduled,
- or the team may be disqualified.
The exact procedure may be set by the rules of the specific tournament.
11Technical issues
If a technical issue occurs during a match, the organizer may decide on:

RiftLeague cannot guarantee uninterrupted availability of third-party services.

A temporary or permanent ban from RiftLeague. Serious violations may lead to a permanent ban.
The organizer may take into account severity, intent, repetition and the impact on other participants.
17Smurfing and alternate accounts
Owning more than one League of Legends account is not in itself a violation of these rules. Using an alternate account is, however, prohibited in order to:
- evade a ban,
- hide one's identity,
- gain an unfair competitive advantage,
- circumvent eligibility rules,
- play for more than one team.

25Payout details
Details provided by a winner for a payout are used only as needed to make the payment and meet any legal obligations.
The winner provides only the details needed to make a bank transfer safely.
RiftLeague will never ask for an online banking password, PIN, login details or payment card number.
26Changes to the rules
RiftLeague may update these rules. The current version is always published on the website.
The rules of a specific tournament may contain additional provisions. In that case they take precedence for that tournament, unless they conflict with mandatory law.
27Final provisions
By taking part in a tournament, participants confirm that they:
